Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for supervising inmates of the Barron County Jail while assuring a safe, secure, and sanitary environment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines under the general direction of the Jail Sergeants and Captain. This is a non-law enforcement position. THIS POSITION WILL START OUT ON NIGHT SHIFT WORKING ROTATING 12 HOURS SHIFTS WITH EVERYOTHER WEEKEND OFF. Monitors and operates all equipment and alarms located in the jail control center. Controls all access to the jail and maintains jail keys. Prevents unauthorized persons from entering or leaving the facilities. Interprets and complies with all bond conditions and commitment orders and Judgments of Convictions. Receives and records fines and bail/bond transactions. Maintains communication within and between shifts and keeps jailers, sergeants and management informed of any problems, complaints, or infractions.
