We are currently seeking experienced candidates for the position of Assistant Director, Systemwide Talent Acquisition. The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. The CSU Chancellor's Office offers a premium benefit package that includes outstanding vacation, health, and dental plans; a fee waiver education program; membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (PERS); and 15 paid holidays a year.

Salary

The anticipated salary hiring range is up to $10,834 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The salary range for this classification is $4,812 to $15,449 per month.

Position Information

The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Assistant Director, Systemwide Talent Acquisition to be responsible for managing, leading, coordinating and leveraging CSU talent acquisition policies, programs, and strategies in support of talent acquisition and retention efforts, in collaboration with the 23 CSU campuses and the Chancellor’s Office. This position will also work closely with the other systemwide HR and communications teams to promote and implement best practices for talent acquisition as well as exploring opportunities for improving effectiveness and efficiency in talent acquisition across the CSU.

Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor & Chief of Staff for Human Resources, the Assistant Director, Systemwide Talent Acquisition will:

-Manage, coordinate and integrate various strategic talent acquisition efforts such as hiring, employee onboarding, and employee engagement across the CSU system.

-Work closely with other systemwide teams to identify, define and monitor systemwide talent acquisition metrics and create, design and implement strategies that drive positive outcomes.

-Provide consulting support, expertise, and assistance to campuses and internal HR partners in the areas of recruitment, retention, and other relevant talent acquisition strategies.

-Create and develop marketing strategies for the CSU as an employer of choice.

-Leverage existing CHRS recruiting solutions and work closely with CHRS recruiting team to design and implement a governance structure that will help provide leadership and strategic support for a HRIS shared services sourcing model.

-Develop effective and long-term talent acquisition strategies for CSU at the system level.

-Partner and coordinate with the campuses to attend career, college fairs, and conferences or similar events as an exhibitor to recruit for the whole system.

-Provide consulting support, expertise, and assistance in searches/recruitments for hard to fill positions system wide.

-Plan and create procedures for improving the candidate's experience.

-Explore opportunities for other recruiting models for CSU including marketing activities, sourcing channels and/or recruitment strategies.

-Manage and organize systemwide events related to talent acquisition and recruitment, including affinity group calls and the systemwide Talent Acquisition Conference.

-Explore other opportunities to reduce recruitment costs across CSU, such as conducting executive searches internally, and allowing dual appointments for existing employees.

-Develop, recommend and implement systemwide guidelines, policies, and procedures to promote systemwide consistency and compliance as it pertains to Talent Acquisition. This includes maintaining contractual partnerships that provide recruitment tools, solutions and training.

Qualifications

This position requires:

-Bachelor's degree in organizational development, Human Resources or Industrial Psychology or equivalent combination of education and experience; and a minimum of at least 8 or more years of experience in leading talent acquisition initiatives to include but not limited to: experience with full service recruiting and sourcing; consultation, management and administration of talent acquisition and staffing experience, managing and leading teams, and developing talent acquisition/HR guidelines, policies and procedures is required.

-Experience managing recruitments and staffing, knowledge creating and developing recruitment strategies, screening applicant resumes for qualifications, consulting and advising department managers regarding recruitment processes, plan and strategies, interviewing techniques, and advising on recruitment policies and procedures.

-Experience developing and implementing guidelines, policies and procedures as it relates to HR/talent acquisition.

-Demonstrated experience with creative methods of sourcing candidates.

-Strong project management skills and experience managing and leading teams.

-Knowledge of and ability to attend job fairs, networking events and other functions to recruit individuals.

-Experience managing program(s) preferably in a Human Resources environment.

-Ability to multi-task, juggle many competing priorities, and excellent follow through skills.

-Highly organized, pro-active, self-starter, attention to detail.

-Ability to set direction and deliver practical business solutions.

-Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Suite to include proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

-CSU or higher education experience working in a collective bargaining environment is highly preferred.

-Knowledge of CSU bargaining agreements, policies and procedures is preferred.

-Experience with HR/recruiting systems (i.e., PageUp, PeopleSoft, etc) is highly preferred.

-Internet knowledge and familiarity with database management systems is preferred.
