Social Sciences Pool Position: Lecturer - AY Academic Year : 2023/2024 Day/Time: Varies Modality: Varies College : College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department : Social Sciences The Program of Social Sciences at California State University San Marcos accepts applications on an on-going basis for our pool of part-time lecturers. The Social Sciences Major is an interdisciplinary program which aims to provide students with a broad understanding and appreci ation of the perspectives offered by multiple social sciences disciplines on contemporary social issues. Students choose a Primary Field and two Secondary Fields from ten disciplines: anthropology, border studies, communication, geography, history, linguistics, political science, psychology, sociology, and women's, gender, and sexuality studies. Secondary Fields are chosen from these ten disciplines and other specified social sciences courses. Students have the option of designing an individualized Secondary Field. The Social Sciences Major is appropriate for students with career interests in human services and social work, education, counseling, busi ness, and government. Students interested in the Social Science Major are encouraged to discuss their education and career objectives with the Social Science Program Director. Minimum qualifications: MA in a social science field (e.g., Anthropology, Border Studies, Communication, Geography, History, Linguistics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies) Expertise in a social science field Experience teaching a social science field in higher education Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California.
