San Bernardino County is recruiting for Radiologic Technologists who, depending on qualifications, perform a variety of radiologic procedures employing the use of x-rays. These positions offer access to state-of-the-art technology and the opportunity to work as part of a dedicated team of physicians and registered nurses within a fast-paced trauma center.

  • San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, located in Victorville and Rancho Cucamonga.

ARROWHEAD REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER

ARMC,
which is owned and operated by San Bernardino County, is a state-of-the-art 456 bed university-affiliated teaching medical center featuring the newest in technology in the field of patient care. ARMC is host to a 24-hour Emergency Department providing more than 90,000 annual visits, a Level I Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, a Regional Burn Center, Behavioral Health Services, Outpatient Specialty Clinics and four Primary Care Family Health Centers (FHC). The FHCs offer comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals and families of all age groups. The FHCs are staffed with experienced attending physicians and resident physicians from the Medical Center. ARMC is a Primary Stroke Center and has a Baby Friendly designation from Baby-Friendly USA with over 2800 births per year. The Neonatal Intensive Care is a 30 bed Community California Children's Services certified unit.

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is the law enforcement agency for the largest geographical county in the nation. The Detentions and Corrections Bureau is responsible for the housing, feeding, health maintenance, and provision of vocational programs for over 100,000 inmates .

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Background: Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation and verification of employment history and education.

Licensed/Certifications: Incumbents must posses and maintain all licenses required by their classification per the minimum requirements below and per regulations applicable to their classifications and specialty assignments (Click here to review job descriptions). Must obtain a State Fluro license within 6 months of hire date.

Trainee Level: Incumbents in the Radiologic Technologist I classification are eligible for promotion to Radiologic Technologist II upon receipt of a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must be promoted within 12 months or be terminated.

Vaccination Requirement: Per the December 24, 2021 updated CA State Public Health Officer Order, all workers who provide services or work in facilities described in subdivision (a) of the order, including clinics and doctor offices, must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In addition, CDPH Public Health Officer Orders updated on February 22, 2022 requires all workers in health care settings currently eligible for boosters, who provide services or work in the impacted facilities must be “fully vaccinated and boosted” for COVID-19 by March 1, 2022. Vaccination Exemptions: Upon hire, candidates will be required to submit proof of vaccination including the booster dose or request an exemption from the vaccination and booster requirements based on either religious belief or medical reasons.

Minimum Requirements

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, REGISTRATIONS & LICENSES
All Positions
  • State of California, Department of Public Health as a Radiologic Technologist Certification
  • Healthcare Provider Level Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Health Association
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE (RT = Radiologic Technologist)
RT I
  • No Experience required (Trainee level)

RT II
  • Two (2) years of experience in a hospital or medical institution as a registered x-ray technologist.
    -OR-
  • Completion of the ARMC Radiologic Technology Program and one (1) year of experience in a hospital or medical institution as a registered x-ray technologist (post certificate).

RT III
  • Three (3) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute care setting.
    -OR-
  • Completion of the ARMC Radiologic Technology Program and two (2) years of experience in a hospital or medical institution as a registered x-ray technologist (post certificate).
ARMC STUDENTS/GRADUATES (RT I Only)
Applications will be accepted for RT I from students enrolled in or graduated from ARMC’s Radiologic Technology program who have passed the ARRT National Board examination OR who have registered to take the ARRT National Board examination; examination date must be within one month of application . Job offers may be made contingent upon obtaining all the required certifications as stated above.

  • Proof of enrollment or graduation from the ARMC Radiologic Technology Program (attach degree, current transcript, or student ID card/number).
  • Proof that you passed the ARRT National Board examination OR proof that you have signed up to take the examination (attach an email confirmation or screenshot of confirmation).
