The Service and Lubrication Technician performs preventive maintenance on all field equipment. Work involves ensuring that all fuel and fluid levels are correct, lubricating points, inspecting all equipment, and maintaining accurate records. Employee is also responsible for maintaining inventories of all fuels, oils, and lubricants.

Examples of Duties

Fuels, lubricates, and checks hydraulic, transmission, radiator, and engine fluid levels on a daily basis.
Ensures proper air pressure on all equipment with tires.
Works on light and heavy equipment as necessary; performs any welding work as necessary.
Hauls equipment to location where work is being performed as necessary.
Repairs tires when appropriate and time permits.
Changes engine oil, filter, and air cleaners as scheduled.
Maintains records of service and repair work performed on equipment, inspects equipment daily to ensure a minimum of costly maintenance.
Checks engine compartment, ensuring proper tension on belts, radiators, and heater hoses have no leaks.
Cleans field equipment radiators and cab windows as needed with portable high-pressure washer.
Maintains sufficient inventory of fuels, lubricants, oils, and filters for equipment.
Makes emergency road calls to prevent costly down time.
Starts and moves all field equipment as necessary to complete the task assigned.
Directs traffic at construction sites.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or GED and a minimum one year of experience in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
Must possess a Class B Driver's License issued by the State of Texas.
Must obtain a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with "X" endorsement issued by the State of Texas within the first six (6) months of employment.
Heavy Brake certification and State Inspection certification preferred.
