THE POSITION The City of Ventura Water Department is looking for a Utility Billing Specialist - Senior Utility Billing Specialist to join the team. We are seeking detailed oriented candidates who are dedicated to meeting customer expectations and requirements. This is a great entry level position for candidates with customer service experience and customer billing, clerical accounting experience or college level coursework in accounting, finance, business administration or the like. WHAT YOU’LL DO Reporting to the Utility Billing Supervisor, the Utility Billing Specialist - Senior Utility Billing Specialist is key to providing front line customer care and accounting work to Ventura Water customers daily. This team member handles a high volume of customer inquiries from open to close and is responsible for providing information and assistance to the public by phone, mail, and computer. Additionally, this Utility Billing Specialist performs detailed clerical work, maintaining water and wastewater billing accounts and processing billing. Utility Billing Specialist is the entry-level class in the utility billing series. At this level, Specialists are expected to perform the more routine and less complex customer care and maintenance of customer accounts related to utility billing while receiving technical and functional direction and training. Positions are flexibly staffed, and Utility Billing Specialists are expected to advance to the Senior Utility Billing Specialist classification upon obtaining the required experience and demonstrated proficiency in performing the assigned functions. Senior Utility Billing Specialist is the journey-level class in the utility billing series. This class performs the full range of customer care and maintenance of customer accounts in support of utility billing. Senior Utility Billing Specialists work with occasional instruction/assistance and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. They may provide lead direction over the Utility Billing Specialist and are normally filled by advancement from the Utility Billing Specialist level. THE POSITION The City of Ventura is hiring! The City of Ventura’s Parks and Recreation Department is actively hiring for part-time, extra-help Recreation Leader I/II and Recreation Specialist positions. Recreation Leader I/II and Recreation Specialists work under general supervision and may provide on-sight supervision, oversight, instruction, and support for a variety of programs, tours, and recreation activities in the areas of sports, cultural arts, interpretive and adaptive services, and other related parks, recreation, senior, youth, and community programs and services. SUMMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Railroad Civil Engineer II will work closely with other staff and consultants to perform project engineering and project management duties for railroad design projects. This position will also be the subject matter expert on a variety of projects including plan reviews, preparation of various applications for environmental documentation and agreements with local agencies, railroads and third parties involving public works construction, station design, grade crossings, grade separations and utilities to ensure compliance with railroad engineering standards and regulatory requirements. This position will be involved in managing projects and tasks as part of the Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion Program (SCORE), a multi-year program to increase the capacity of the regional rail system by adding double track, station platforms, grade crossing improvements, signal respacing, and maintenance facilities. SUMMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Railroad Civil Engineer II will work closely with other staff and consultants to perform project engineering and project management duties for railroad design projects. This position will also be the subject matter expert on a variety of projects including plan reviews, preparation of various applications for environmental documentation and agreements with local agencies, railroads and third parties involving public works construction, station design, grade crossings, grade separations and utilities to ensure compliance with railroad engineering standards and regulatory requirements. This position will be involved in managing projects and tasks as part of the Southern California Optimized Rail Expansion Program (SCORE), a multi-year program to increase the capacity of the regional rail system by adding double track, station platforms, grade crossing improvements, signal respacing, and maintenance facilities. Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Manager, Systemwide HR Data Integration Partner , the Administrative Specialist, Civil Rights will: -Maintain confidential status on all unit work product. -This position will have access to information on management/union negotiations or relations based on internal discussions pertaining to bargaining proposals and strategies and assists management positions with respect to meeting and conferring. This position will be responsible for taking meeting notes where sensitive case information is discussed. Campus Coordination -Coordinates with campuses stakeholders. Gathers and synthesizes information from the campus Title IX offices and their campus partners to inform and facilitate various projects of the Systemwide Civil Rights Department. -Coordinate planning of events and activities with campus stakeholders and training for the campus. -Assists with planning and organization of periodic systemwide Title IX/DHR meetings (telephonic and in-person). -Relays updates and information about Systemwide Civil Rights initiatives to the campuses. Data Coordination -Gathers and organizes data on assigned problems and assists with preparations for reports based on needs and required available data elements. -Assists with collecting data used for Civil Rights trends and patterns. Positions in this classification are responsible for mental health and SUD coding activities, including but not limited to: developing and distributing guidance; planning and conducting departmental training/education; performing scheduled and ad-hoc audits to support fraud/abuse prevention/detection practices; researching code applicability and providing direction, as appropriate. The Coding Supervisor reports directly to the Compliance Manager, who has overall responsibility for the operations of Medical Records, Coding Team, and Contract Monitoring and Technical Assistance. Examples of typical job duties include: Plan, assign, and supervise the work of certified medical coders involved in coding/abstracting and audits; provide guidance and training development; complete documentation and communicate with contractors, Department direct service providers and management; collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and other related coding functions. The Coding Supervisor may also attend internal or external collaborative meetings requiring coding expertise and insight. Establish procedures and record systems to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with state and federal regulatory and accrediting requirements; monitor quality and productivity; coordinate collaboration and/or support as required by other Department service programs and divisions; address complaints and resolve problems relating to subordinate staff and/or coding activities. Oversee the preparation of reports to ensure accuracy and completeness of charts. Ensure compliance and provide oversight for coders in pre-planned audits, including responding to inquiries and technical assistance; Oversee regular coding guidance and training plans delivered to direct service providers via Coding Team. May design and conduct coding studies, analyze case mix and outliers, prepare abstracts, summarize records, as well as provide presentations. DBH provides mental health and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services to all age groups, with a primary emphasis on treating children/youth who may be seriously emotionally disturbed, adults who are experiencing a serious and persistent mental illness, and individuals who are experiencing substance use disorders.
