POSITION SUMMARY:
The Daycare Lead works under the direction of the Guest Services Supervisor and will be responsible for the operation, programming, planning, and supervision of children and employees for Little Rec Explorers at Glenwood Springs Community Center.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide safe, fun, and nurturing environment in which both children and parents feel comfortable. Coordinate engaging and age-appropriate activities for children between the ages of 1-7. Responsible for implementing exciting and educational weekly programming. Encourage inclusivity for all children in the daycare and adjust play as needed for children. Must be aware of potentially unsafe conditions; work and play with children in a safe and courteous manner; and communicate effectively with staff, participants, and parents. Responsible for supervision and scheduling of Daycare Attendants and Aides and adhering to budget restrictions. Responsible for creating an environment and relationships with Daycare Attendants and Aides that they feel comfortable in sharing their ideas and concerns. Maintain inventory of supplies to run games, crafts, events, and all other projects and order supplies as necessary. Maintain cleaning of the childcare area including but not limited to, daily sanitization of toys, cleaning bathroom, and vacuuming. Responsible for filling out and turning in any necessary reports, forms, or paperwork to Guest Services Supervisor. Knowledgeable about membership options and pricing to encourage memberships to families. Enforce all general building policies and safety standards and regulations in all facilities.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & CERTIFICATIONS
Necessary:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Current CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of hire date.
- 1-year previous experience working with children in daycare or preschool environment.
- Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
- Possess a valid Colorado driver’s license with a good driving record.
Desired:
- Education in Early Childhood, Child Development, or related field.
