What You'll Be DoingAs the
Public Health Administrative Director, you will be a key member of the department’s leadership team, responsible for directing essential business management and customer support programs. Your work will help ensure the smooth operation of internal systems and services that are critical to the department’s success - supporting everything from budgeting and contracts to communications and facilities.
In this highly collaborative role, you will:
- Oversee and coordinate core business operations including general and enterprise budgets, purchasing, contracts, and building management
- Direct customer support activities to promote efficient, responsive service across the department
- Develop and implement internal communication strategies to foster clarity and collaboration
- Supervise medical records management, ensuring regulatory compliance and confidentiality
- Support the Public Health Director in strategic planning, operational development, and aligning services with departmental goals
This is a visible and impactful leadership role that plays a vital part in advancing the department’s mission of accountability, quality, and effective service delivery.
Anticipated Start Date: This position is part of the newly established
Public Health Department, effective

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or a related field
- Six (6) years of experience working in public administration or health care administration including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Experience managing and monitoring general and enterprise budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation
- Proven ability to oversee departmental purchasing and contracting in line with compliance and operational needs
- Leadership in building management, including oversight of maintenance, security, and workspace planning
- Skill in developing and implementing internal communication strategies
- Experience supervising medical records systems and ensuring confidentiality and compliance
How Will We Know You're 'The One'? - Ability to manage and monitor complex budgets with a focus on efficiency
- Knowledge of purchasing and contracting within a public health or government context
- Understanding of building and facilities operations, including maintenance and planning
- Strong internal communication skills to foster collaboration and transparency
- Knowledge of medical records management and applicable compliance standards
- Experience overseeing customer support operations and improving service delivery
- Ability to align business management practices with departmental goals and strategies
