    CITY OF EL PASO EMPLOYEE’S RETIREMENT TRUST

    This is not a Civil Service position.

    The role of the City of El Paso Employees Retirement Trust is to provide secure retirement benefits, quality information concerning those benefits, and prompt professional and courteous service that meets the highest standards of excellence. In carrying out that role, the Board of Trustees and staff are committed to acting for the exclusive benefit of the Trust and its participants, managing assets of the Trust prudently, and administering benefits with impartiality.

    Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Economics, Statistics, Business, Public Policy or Public Administration, social/behavioral sciences, or other field with coursework involving the application of research and statistical methods and (1) one year of related experience.

    General Purpose

    The Benefits Research Assistant will gather and organize information from various sources, such as databases and software applications, research selected information, maintain databases, ensure accuracy and consistency of information, document sources, activities, and information, and perform work in administering retirement benefits and pension-related duties.

    Typical Duties

    • Examine and analyze data from files and databases.
    • Maintains files and records of retirement applications and maintains a computerized database of each participant’s status.
    • Keep log books and lists up to date, including the refunds log, retirements log, and contributions retained list.
    • File, categorize, and store hard-copy records appropriately.
    • Perform data entry and administrative tasks as required.
    • Recommend changes to update existing databases, procedures manuals, directives, and policies.
    • Provide exceptional customer service in person, via the telephone, and through email.
    • Assist with special projects as required.
    • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
