This position will be located at Riverside Collections Facility, 117 N Riverside Dr Jefferson City, MO 65101.
- Produce signs, banners and plaques using printed vinyl, cut vinyl, CNC routing, laser cutting and engraving on various materials, plastic, coroplast, aluminum, aluminum clad material, foamcore, etc.
- Create graphic artwork, layouts and designs for a variety of media using Adobe software and other specialized equipment and hardware. These items include, but are not limited to, signs, interpretive panels, maps, brochures, social media graphics, business cards, posters, fliers, banners, and other design projects as necessary.
- Analyze project from design to production to best utilize existing templates and design standards, standard paper sizes and current technology to create appealing, consistent, visually current and cost-effective materials/products.
- Safely operate and assist in maintenance of hand and power tools (saws, drills, metal shear, etc.), production equipment (printer, laminator, plotter, CNC or laser engraver, etc.), and material-moving equipment (hand dolly, pallet jack, forklift), as needed.
- Utilize the Graphics Inbox Task Process (M365 Outlook or current system) to accept, document and complete projects.
- Exhibit solid organizational and follow-through skills, performing work timely and accurately with strong attention to detail.
- Communicate with team members to insure correct project prioritization and production schedules.
- Utilize illustration skills and/or appropriate stock imagery to complete projects.
- Review projects before submitting for proofing or approval to ensure all edits, corrections and suggestions were completed.
- Prepare files for proofing, including mockups of placement, materials, etc.
- Prepare files for production, including file clean-up and communication.
- Ensure correct material are used for each job and output device settings are accurate for fabrication.
- Prepare and maintain files of projects and artwork for archives.
To be successful in this position, a candidate will need the following skills:
- Hardware : Knowledge of specifications, uses, and types of computer or computer-related equipment.
- Multimedia Technologies : Knowledge of the principles, methods, tools, and techniques to develop or apply technology using text, audio, graphics, or other media.
- Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving : Uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
- Creative Thinking : Uses imagination to develop new insights into situations and applies new solutions to problems; designs new methods where established methods and procedures are not suitable or are unavailable.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
- Prepare four-color printed documents and publications using printers, laminators, folding/binding equipment, copiers, etc.
- Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds by oneself.
- Ability to measure, cut, and assemble components with precision.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools.
Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field and 2 or more years in Graphic Design and/or Sign Production
