Job Location: This position will be located at 3216-3218 Emerald Lane, Jefferson City, MO 65101.
Why you’ll love this position: The Business Operations Manager is responsible for managing, monitoring, and reporting on budgetary functions in the office. This position must be familiar with Department policy to make sure the agency functions within those parameters. The Business Office Manager oversees and reports on progress of programs as they relate to the budget and the mandates of the agency.
- Coordinate the financial and accounting functions within the Missouri Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Review and interpret fiscal statutes, regulations, and policy regarding the agency.
- Oversee fiscal accountability of the agency and report quarterly to the Commission.
- Reviews and assists with expenditures and reimbursements (expense reports, DPRs, invoices, etc.)
- Leads the annual preparation and submission of the applicable budget request forms for Core Decision items, Program Descriptions, and New Budget Request forms that are part of the annual DESE Budget Book.
- Assists with the development, tracking, and fiscal monitoring of invoices, contracts, grants, RFPs, MOUs, IFBs, and IFQs.
- Reconcile revolving funds and provide assistance with all business-related activities-such as conferences, workshops, and other recovery projects.
- Develops vendor contracts in accordance with Department protocol and software.
- Collects and interprets fiscal data for program enhancement or efficiency.
- Serve as the agency’s Fiscal Liaison.
- Ensure section policies and procedures for agency activities are implemented and followed with fidelity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
- Demonstrate regular, reliable, and engaged attendance.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field and one year of successful experience in a professional capacity.
OR - Five or more years’ successful relevant work experience in the financial, accounting, business administration, and/or other progressively closely related experience, and possession of a high school diploma or equivalency.
