    The Position

    Mail Service staff process incoming and outgoing mail to ensure distribution to proper destination according to zip code, department, agency or other location.

    The Department of Welfare and Supportive Services (DWSS) is currently recruiting for a Mail Services Clerk 1. This position will be located in DWSS' Publications Unit in Carson City. This position plays an integral part in the success of our agency by ensuring timely and accurate pickup and delivery of vital documents and other items as needed. The Mail Services Clerk is responsible for timely pickup and delivery of agency mail, forms, and files, between district offices, warehouses, the United States Postal Service and other locations as needed. The position is also responsible for tracking/inventory, processing of orders received by the Publications unit and assists with the publication of documents as needed.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school or equivalent education and six months of general clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. In contrast, the State's lowest point (along the Colorado River) is only 470 feet above sea level. From majestic mountains to desert valleys, nature has endowed Nevada with diverse and unique ecosystems.
