The Office of Equity & Inclusion is hiring an Administrator ADA . This new position will be responsible for facilitating the Americans with Disabilities Act ( ADA ) Title II complaint and grievance process and will collaborate with departments, community, and residents to ensure compliance. In addition, this position will collect, analyze, and present data measuring the City’s progress in incorporating ADA compliance throughout the organization.
The ADA Coordinator will also be expected to have knowledge and experience working with Title VI. There will be likely be cases where Title VI and ADA intersect in terms of program coordination as well as investigations. Additional responsibilities will include:
- Assisting program personnel to correct discriminatory practices or policies found through self‐monitoring and review activities.
- Being the focal point for monitoring of programs and/or activities receiving federal financial assistance including development of an Implementation Plan (similar to ADA Implementation Plan).
- Ensuring that nondiscrimination requirements are included in policy directives and that the procedures used have built in safeguards to prevent discrimination.
- Implementation of procedures for the prompt processing of Title VI external discrimination complaints.
- Efforts to coordinate the development and implementation of nondiscrimination training program for city employees.
- Developing non-discrimination information for public dissemination, and where appropriate, in languages other than English.
The Office of Equity & Inclusion enforces local fair employment and fair housing ordinances under contract with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD ). Pay Range
$35.50 - $45.27 per hour. Commensurate with experience.
Hours
Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Telework opportunities may be available for a hybrid schedule based on business needs.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Serves as in-house resource to departments, Council, and staff on all issues related to major area of administration (e.g. ADA ) Acts as community liaison to city commissions. Monitors City compliance with City, State, and Federal laws by conducting audits, on-site visits, and surveys of all City departments. Develops and implements education and training programs to make City staff aware of and sensitive to issues in areas such as ADA . Is responsible for investigating citizen complaints. Studies existing and new employment legislation and Federal, State and Local Legal Requirements; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions. Researches.
