Why you’ll love this position:OA Document Solutions offers a wide variety of small or large volume print and mail solutions for Missouri State Government. The Press Supervisor oversees the operation and maintenance of all offset and web presses; supervises team members to assure efficient workflow and produce high quality publications; train, schedule and evaluate the performance of assigned press personnel; consult with print manager to establish priorities and coordinate print schedules.
- Supervision and Leadership: Assigns tasks, schedules work, trains personnel, and evaluates performance.
- Quality Control: Ensures print quality meets standards, manages color calibration, and handles print quality issues.
- Process Improvement: Identifies areas for improvement, implements workflow optimizations, and monitors cost reduction efforts.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnoses and resolves press issues, performs minor repairs, and ensures proper equipment maintenance.
- Safety: Enforces safety regulations, implements safety procedures, and ensures a safe work environment.
- Inventory Management: Monitors inventory levels, orders supplies, and manages material usage.
- Record Keeping: Maintains records of press performance, maintenance schedules, and material usage.
- Teamwork: Operate equipment presses and other equipment throughout production and perform other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Four or more years of experience in production printing and/or mail operations involving highly technical computerized equipment, offset duplicating equipment, high-speed copiers, bindery equipment, and/or mailing equipment; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
Preferred Qualifications: - Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of offset printing, duplicating and finishing work, computer system operations, and/or mail operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the various types of papers, inks, chemicals, and applications used in printing operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of business practices, supervision, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate and adjust various machines as prescribed by the manufacturer, maintain equipment, and make routine repairs and adjustments.
- Ability to instruct, assign, schedule and coordinate the work of assigned press personnel in all phases of work.
- Ability to perform and direct work under pressure, make decisions, and consult with print manager to meet deadlines.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and/or box truck as needed.
- Ability to operate a forklift and clamp truck.
- Ability to lift (in excess of 50lbs), move, and transport supplies and/or mail.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships using tact, patience and courtesy with all team members, customers and leadership.
