    Full-time position with the Health Department, STI and HIV Integrated Programs Division located at 2400 Troost. Limited term merit will last for two years.
    Starting Salary: $4,619/monthly
    Normal Work Days/Hours: Flexible work days and hours, up to 10 hours per month

    Responsibilities

    The Kansas City, MO Health Department seeks an HIV Consumer Liaison that is passionate about improving the experience of people with HIV in the Ryan White System.
    • Serves as the HIV Consumer Liaison for the Kansas City Quality Improvement Council (KC-QuIC).
    • Provides a personal perspective on the implementation of improvement strategies and the challenges and barriers that consumers and persons living with HIV face in obtaining quality care.
    • Serves as a liaison between the Missouri Statewide Quality Team (MOSwQT) members, peers, and other councils and boards, and shares information, concerns, and successes between the entities.
    • Educates peers and other council and board members on the goals and progress of Kansas City and Missouri Ryan White Quality Improvement efforts.
    • Speaks to groups of peers or providers encompassing the entire state or region, or leads discussions about quality, where needed.
    • Conducts regional presentations for consumers regarding quality improvement efforts.
    • Provides QI training and notice of webinars/training to peers.
    • Disseminates MOSwQT newsletter and other communications produced by the Kansas City or statewide team.
    • Acts as the two-way communication between the KC-QuIC, MOSwQT and Missouri consumers.
    • Attends and contributes to regularly scheduled meetings, as required.
    • Attends quality management and quality improvement trainings, as required.
    • Travels to out of town meetings can be expected (about twice per year).
    • Communicates with the multidisciplinary team community of medical care and social service support comfortably and has a basic understanding of quality improvement concepts and Ryan White funding structures.



    Qualifications

    REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional experience in business or public sector administration to include at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience with at least 2 years performing administrative and/or supervisory work involving more complex projects or programs.

    The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
    For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
    Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

    If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
