What You'll Be DoingThe Housing Administration and Operations Division is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and versatile Student Intern to support ongoing initiatives in business process automation and organizational efficiency. The position will be part of the Business Team which comprises the Department Business Manager, Senior Accountant, and Accountant. The team works closely with the Contracts Team, the Housing Grants Administrator, Senior Administrative Coordinator, and the Research, Data, and Systems Division to operationally support the department’s five programmatic divisions: Homeless and Prevention Services, Permanent Housing and Supportive Services, Equitable Housing & Community Development, Veterans Services.
•Data & Process Automation
- Leading and supporting projects to automate recurring processes, including the monthly financial review and invoice workflows
- Liaising with IT teams to implement system enhancements and streamline communication
- Updating the Landlord Engagement Unit digital app with landlord information, lease dates, and property insurance data
•Documentation & Communication

- Reviewing Federal, State, and internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Collaborating on drafting written materials and formal documentation for business processes
- Organization & File Management
- Organizing digital and physical files in accordance with record retention standards
- Maintaining effective file management systems to support department needs
•Engagement & Exploration
- Participating in team activities and initiatives
