    Job Location: This position will be located at Missouri School for the Blind, 3815 Magnolia Ave., St. Louis, MO 63110

    Why you’ll love this position:

    The Lead Parent Advisor provides for statewide parent training services and in-home parent education through parent advisors to parents of children with vision impairment/blindness with or without concomitant disabilities (birth - 5).

    What you'll do:

    • Recruit, train, supervise, and support MoSPIN parent advisors
    • Continually disseminate information about MoSPIN program to increase families in MoSPIN
    • Collaborate with Part C and Part B programs for early identification, family support services, and transitioning
    • Present to potential referring agencies regarding identification, referral and census on a continual basis
    • Attend the Trainer Training for VIISA and INSITE (Date/location TBD) possibly Aug 4-7, Montana School for the Blind
    • Co-instruction of the INSITE course and all other Outreach trainings
    • Collaborate with Family Engagement Coordinator for family events
    • Attend local and state Interagency Coordinating Council meetings and Office of Childhood meetings
    • Assist with the collection of evaluation data on family technical assistance, training, and MoSPIN program surveys
    • Participate and present at the Deafblind Advisory Committee
    • Provide regular conferences/webinars/virtual meetings and in person trainings to families
    • Help families connect with other families of children who have sensory impairments including family mentoring


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Graduation from an accredited college or university in special education
    • Experience working with young children with disabilities
    • Experience working with families
