    Job Location: 600 NE Colbern Rd., Lee's Summit, MO 64086

    Why you’ll love this position:

    The district construction and materials engineer provides district-wide oversight, technical expertise and quality assurance of district construction projects, materials inspections, and geotechnical operations. Responsibilities are performed under general supervision.

    What you'll do:

    • Provides supervision and technical assistance to district resident engineers, materials staff, construction personnel, and geotechnical staff.
    • Provides quality assurance for district construction activities.
    • Serves as the district construction and materials representative during the project development process.
    • Serves as the external contact for the public and media and the internal contact for department customer service and community relations personnel regarding district construction activities.
    • Interprets project specifications for district construction and materials staff.


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
    • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
    • Eight years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.
    • OSHA 10-Hour Certification required within 90 days.


    Special Working Conditions

    • Job requires exposure to moderately adverse and undesirable environmental conditions.
    • This title requires advanced accreditation or licensure which is only available to holders of specific postsecondary degrees.
