Overview One Agency, One Mission: Public Safety Larimer County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly motivated
Applications Support Specialist to join our team. This role is vital to the ongoing support, configuration, and optimization of departmental business applications. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver and technical advisor with a strong understanding of both vendor and custom software applications, while maintaining confidentiality and CJIS security compliance where appropriate. You'll work closely with end-users to ensure applications and related devices meet operational needs and are functioning at optimal levels.

Hours are typically 7:30 - 4:30 Mon-Fri with some flexibility to support business needs. This is
not a remote position.
Starting pay is $35.9127 - $43.0952 per hour.ResponsibilitiesApplication Support & Maintenance- Configure, test, and implement business applications and new functionality while ensuring CJIS security compliance.
- Support users in operational troubleshooting and application use.
- Monitor application performance, logs, and data outputs to ensure system integrity.
- Set up and maintain user roles, profiles, and access according to protocol.
- Provide 7x24 hour rotating on-call support (every third week; an on-call stipend is paid for each on-call shift that is covered).
Analysis & Documentation- Analyze user needs and translate them into functional requirements.
- Prepare and maintain detailed user manuals, process flows, and training materials.
- Develop and validate reports and outputs; ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Perform routine audits and execute scheduled maintenance tasks.
Problem Solving & Communication- Provide responsive technical support and communicate clearly with coworkers regarding the status of their requests.
- Coordinate with vendors and IT for issue resolution, patches, and upgrades.
- Identify root causes of issues and recommend corrective actions or workarounds.
Project Management & Leadership- Manage small-scale projects or individual phases of larger projects.
- Lead testing efforts; develop scripts and testing plans.
- Offer coaching and guidance to colleagues as needed.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications- Experience: Minimum of four (4) years in application or systems support.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Solid understanding of database concepts and data extraction/reporting.
- Ability to analyze and diagnose application issues.
- Familiarity with application lifecycle, project management, and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general business applications.
- Strong communication skills-both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
