    The Missoula Public Library is seeking a FACILITIES ADMINISTRATOR to join their team. This position performs custodial maintenance and semi-skilled or manual work repairing and maintaining the Library building and equipment.

    Representative Examples of Work

    Performs minor repairs and maintenance of motorized equipment; replaces brushes, cords, wiring, switches, motors and bearings. Performs electrical, minor carpentry, and plumbing maintenance. Performs on-going routine maintenance of the building or equipment: repairs carpet tears, door closures and locks, desks, chairs and light fixtures; does minor painting; installs or removes shelving, etc. Performs custodial upkeep of building: vacuums and shampoos carpeted floors; scrubs, mops and waxes non-carpeted floors; replaces light bulbs; washes woodwork, tiles and restrooms. Inspects, cleans and maintains heating and cooling systems; blows down boiler and adds chemical treatment as needed. Develops and implements a maintenance schedule and maintains related records. As part of the building maintenance team, develops and implements a maintenance schedule and maintains related records. Assists with department relocations, moving office furniture and files, etc. Responsible for supply budget, inventory of maintenance supplies and ordering supplies. Maintains exterior grounds by picking up trash and cleaning parking lot. Operates groundskeeping tools and equipment to shovel walks, mow lawns, trim bushes and remove snow.

    Oversees the work of contracted services in areas of building maintenance and warranty upkeep. Serves as messenger in errands and deliveries and collects book drop bins on daily basis. OTHER DUTIES : Perform related work as required.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school graduation or GED.
    • Requires two years' experience in the maintenance of facilities.
    • SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Must possess Low Pressure Boiler's License and valid Montana Driver's License.


    Physical/Environmental Demands

    The work requires considerable physical exertion such as lifting or pushing heavy objects. Involves moderate risks from working around moving parts or machines. Requires intermittent standing, walking, stooping and kneeling while reaching and handling cleaning equipment and supplies; climbs stepladder as needed; lifts/carries cleaning supplies, furniture and equipment over 50 lbs with use of mechanical or people assists. Pushes vacuum cleaner, lawn mower, floor polisher, snow blower and roamer (equipment used to clean parking lot) as needed. May be required to work evening and Saturday hours.

    Excellent Medical Health Benefits- Group health benefits, including dental and vision coverage, are available to eligible County employees. The medical health benefits premium is covered for full-time employees. The County contribution is pro-rated on hours paid for part-time employees. The employee pays the premium portion for dependent coverage. Family health benefits coverage is $258.00 per pay period.

    Medical deductible is $500 for an individual and $1,000 for a family.

    Flexible Benefits Plan- Pre-tax out-of-pocket medical expenses and day care expenses.

    Voluntary Life Insurance Coverage, Long and Short-Term Disability, Critical and Accident Insuranceare offered through Mutual ofOmaha.

    Public Employees Retirement System- Montana public employees of the state, university system, local governments and certain employees of school districts are covered by the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). New members to the PERS have an opportunity to choose between two retirement plan options: the Defined Benefit Plan or the Defined Contribution Plan.

    Sheriffs' Retirement System (SRS)- A public pension plan for all Montana Sheriffs hired after July 1, 1974 and Detention Officers hired after July 1, 2005.

    Supplemental Retirement Benefitsare offered through Valic or Nationwide.

    Sick Leave- Full-time employees accrue 7.38hours per month and are eligible to use sick leave once you have been an employee for 90 days.The accrual is pro-rated for part-time employees.

    Vacation Leave- Full-time employees accrue 9.24 hours per month and are eligible to use leave after continuous employment for a period of 6 full months. The accrual is pro-rated for part-time employees.

    Holidays- The County observes eleven legal holidays in even numbered years and ten legal holidays in odd numbered years.

    Paid Parental Leave (PPL)-In recognition of the importance of bonding and care of a newborn child or a child placed for adoption, Missoula County 6 continuous weeks of PPL to eligible full-time employees that have been with the county for 180 days. The hours are pro-rated for part-time employees.
