Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Airport Operations Division, located at 1 Kansas City Blvd.
Salary: Starting at $24.77/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Four 10-hour shifts on a monthly rotating basis, available 24/7.

Responsibilities
- Patrol airfield runways, taxiways, and aprons to ensure compliance with FAR 139, 77, and 150 regulations.
- Inspect for hazards such as malfunctioning lights, non-compliant pavement markings and signs, foreign object debris (FOD), broken pavement, fuel or oil spills, and weather conditions.
- Prepare corresponding reports and work requests.
- Manage wildlife presence on the airfield using deterrent and harassment techniques to disperse wildlife threats and remove and identify deceased wildlife from movement areas.
- Conduct perimeter inspections to ensure fence lines and posts are secure according to the airport security plan.
- Provide escort services within the Airport Operations Area as necessary.
- Inspect fuel farms, fueling equipment, and operations to ensure compliance with NFPA 407 standards.
- Manage the snow desk during winter weather. You'll play an essential role in supporting the snow and ice control plan and issue NOTAMs when necessary.
- Explain and enforce airport plans and procedures, along with local, state, and federal safety and security regulations, including TSA and FAA requirements, ensuring full compliance from all stakeholders.
- Provide training for SIDA, Movement, and Non-Movement areas and conduct practical exams.
- Perform terminal and landside inspections and respond to incidents to monitor traffic and address liability issues.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and forms.
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Manager of Operations or the Aviation Manager(s) on duty.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRES an accredited Bachelor's degree in public or business administration, airport management, engineering or a related field and 1 year of progressively responsible experience in airport operations/management activities at the level of Administrative Assistant; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience. Must obtain a Missouri driver's license within 30 days of employment. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and post-offer physical examination as prescribed by the City.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
