    Overview

    At Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive, provide timely resources in partnership with our community so individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, enthusiastic and inclusive staff member to join our Benefits and Community Support (BCS) Division as a Training Specialist!

    The Training Specialist develops, provides, and coordinates new and ongoing trainings for all public assistance programs (SNAP, cash programs, Medicaid) coordinated by the Benefits and Community Support Division.

    Please note: Two (2) years experience in a directly related field including one (1) year of experience equivalent to that of an Community Support Specialist II or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities in a Human Services program is required to be considered for this position.

    Responsibilities

    What you'll be doing:
    • Developing and delivering training on assistance program rules, procedures, and systems.
    • Evaluating trainee performance and providing feedback to staff and supervisors.
    • Coaching staff during classroom and on-the-job training.
    • Providing indirect supervision and coordinating assigned work.
    • Correcting applications for Colorado Works, SNAP, Medicaid, and Adult Financial programs.

    What we're looking for:
    • Ability to accurately apply complex rules, policies, and State Staff Manual guidance.
    • Familiarity with state systems and common business software.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Skill in researching and using data from multiple sources.
    • Ability to maintain professional boundaries in a large agency.
    • Sound judgment in evaluating complex issues and policies.
    • Experience facilitating groups and resolving concerns.
    • Understanding of basic supervisory and training principles.
    • Demonstrated leadership; lead work experience is a plus.

    • Two (2) years experience in a directly related field, including one (1) year of experience equivalent to that of a Community Support Specialist II or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities in a human services program required.
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.

    Supplemental Information

    The typical schedule will be Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm This position is a hybrid position and will require at least one day/week in the office and up to five days/week depending on training needs. You will be required to have adequate internet access and space for remote work. Larimer County provides an annual remote work stipend to assist with equipment and office supply needs for remote workspaces.

    In-office work will be located at one of the following three locations: 1501 Blue Spruce Drive, Fort Collins, CO 2555 Midpoint Drive, Fort Collins, CO 200 Peridot Avenue, Loveland, CO
