Clinic Registered Nurse!
Are you a compassionate and skilled nurse looking to make a meaningful impact in public health? We’re seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the HIV/Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Clinic.
In this vital role, you’ll be at the forefront of patient care-providing clinical services, identifying and treating sexually transmitted infections, and supporting individuals living with HIV. You’ll work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment where your expertise helps improve lives and promote community wellness.
The RN will be responsible for the following:
- Obtaining patient's complete sexual history
- Complete a physical examination to detect sexually transmitted diseases by ordering appropriate laboratory tests, evaluating finding, treat according to approved medical directives or refers clients to appropriate clinical resources as necessary
- Provides counseling components to include risk reduction education for HIV, testing for HIV and counseling and education regarding STD's and unplanned pregnancy
- Share responsibility with team members for planning, implementing, and evaluating these programs
Other duties and responsibilities include:
- Maintaining clinic supplies
- Assist with CQI for clinic
- Attend in-services within and outside WCHHS, CPR and appropriate workshops to maintain licensure
- Trained and available to assist Wake County in the event of an emergency

The Basics (Required Education and Experience) - Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing
- No specific experience required
- Eligibility for licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse as issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience) - Experience working with HIV patients
- Spanish languages skills preferred but not required.
