This recruitment is for the position of Maintenance Repair Worker II within the Department of Administration, State Public Works Division, Buildings and Grounds Section, based in Carson City. The role is under the supervision of a Facility Supervisor III. The Maintenance Repair Worker II is responsible for performing a range of semi-skilled tasks across one or more building or mechanical trades, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, welding, and equipment maintenance. While routine duties are carried out independently, more complex assignments are typically completed alongside a journey-level tradesperson or Maintenance Repair Specialist. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) One year of experience performing semi-skilled work in the building and/or mechanical trades; OR one year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. Additional Position Criteria This position requires a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. This position requires the incumbent to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for stand-by emergency status and participate in an on-call rotation schedule. This position requires the incumbent to work with and supervise inmate workers. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.
