DESCRIPTIONThe Fire Department is now recruiting for the position of Clerk Typist III. This recruitment is anticipated to close on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM OR when 100 applications are received, whichever occurs first. The Fire Department is seeking a Clerk Typist III-Unclassified to p rovide direct clerical support for the in the Business Operations Bureau, Personnel Services Division. The position services a diverse population of approximately 700 full and part-time employees. The position assists with personnel/human resources functions. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule after six months of employment.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES- Drafts various types of correspondence, memorandums, and reports for division and management staff.
- Drafts personnel requisitions and assists with general recruitment duties.
- Assists sworn and professional staff with general Return to Work Program inquiries.
- Provides scheduling support by scheduling meetings, reserving conference rooms, and setting up room technology as required.
- Tracks and monitors annual employee training compliance, including Harassment Prevention Training and Cybersecurity training.
- Tracks and monitors safety protocols to ensure full compliance and up-to-date standards at Fire Headquarters.
- Schedules employee ergonomic evaluations.
- Maintains and updates organizational charts as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS TO FILE- Ability to type neatly and accurately at a net speed of 40 words per minute.
- Ability to file in alphabetical and numerical order.
- Ability to make simple mathematical computations.
- Ability to correct errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
