The Position Under immediate supervision, incumbents perform duties below the journey level while receiving training for advancement to an entry-level professional health/human services class. The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Rural Clinics (RC) has an opening for a full time Health/Human Services Professional Trainee (underfill for a Psychiatric Caseworker 2) in Fallon, NV. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics which are located in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery and follow Agency protocols and reimbursement guidelines. Rural Clinics provides ongoing training including release time to attend training not Agency-sponsored.
This position assesses people's needs for any medical, educational, social, or other services which can include vocational, financial (work), transportation and housing; monitors consumer and provider progress on care plan goals; referring consumer to appropriate services according to the plan of care in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 2500 and with state laws, Division policies and agency procedures. This position understands housing/residential requirements, both at a State and Federal level, and participates in meetings at the agency and clinic levels. This position also provides Rehabilitative Mental Health (RMH) services, such as Basic Skills Training (BST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services as prescribed through licensed personnel and in accordance with the State Medicaid Services Manual Chapter 400. The Psychiatric Caseworker requires a completed bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a closely related human services field. Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in social work, early childhood development, psychology, public health, special education, nursing, or other discipline directly related to the field in which the applicant is to be trained; OR two years of journey level technical or paraprofessional experience in the field in which the applicant is to be trained. (NOTE: some jobs strictly require a bachelor's degree). Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal background and fingerprint check is required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. The Examination Application Evaluation Exam The exam will consist of an application evaluation.
