The position generally reports to the Data Support Supervisor though it could report to another more experienced Data Support Analyst, or the Data Team Audit Manager.
All audit and auditee information is confidential and shall be treated as such by all employees.
- Acquire knowledge of all data support processes;
- Gain familiarity with the state accounting system's overall structure;
- Perform daily processing of General Revenue and COVID-19/ARP Act spending from the state accounting system;
- Monitor the data team email account and fulfill requests;
- Develop expertise in ACL data analytics software and others as assigned;
- Use Tableau, ACL, Access, Excel and other software as appropriate to complete tasks;
- Support recurring data support needs such as assisting with the Article X (Hancock Amendment) audit/review process and the filing of county budgets;
- Create or update documentation of processes and procedures;
- Use caution when building or modifying processes to avoid disrupting integrity and/or introducing unintended effects;
- Participate in audits as needed;
- Obtain Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours as required by Government Auditing Standards and any licenses and certifications held;
- Assist with training for SAO staff when requested;
- Communicate issues or challenges to supervisor;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: - Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business administration, finance, or other similar degree.
- Licensed CPA or individuals qualified to obtain a CPA license preferred but not required.
- Ability to adapt to varying working hours as needed. (Meetings or trainings may require alternate schedules.)
- Valid drivers' license, availability of a motor vehicle, and proof of motor vehicle liability insurance.
- Successful performance as a Staff Auditor I with the SAO or comparable experience.
