    Major Duties

    The incumbent develops, coordinates, plans, delivers, and evaluates complex student programs to enhance student success. Responsibilities include guidance for staff and student employees, collaboration with campus partners, and advancing institutional efforts that support diversity, equity, and inclusion across the university community.
    • Develops, coordinates, plans, delivers and evaluates a comprehensive set of highly complex support services, activities, events, and programs specifically designed to increase access, retention, and graduation for student participants.
    • Provides day to day guidance to the Latinx/a/o Resource Center Programs Coordinator.
    • Oversees the Latinx/a/o Resource Center student assistants.
    • Promotes best practices in student success, improving outcomes related to the success, development, inclusion, retention and experience of students on campus.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field. Upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related, is preferred.
    • Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes experience in advising students individually and in groups, and in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
    • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.


    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Knowledge of: Student Affairs, Student Development and/or Student Services in higher education; current trends in Student Success as it relates to Academic Affairs and holistic student support; cultural awareness and cultural humility; multicultural identity development models/theories as they relate to Latinx/a/o students; and ethnic studies praxis or other critical race approaches to addressing equity issues.
    • Knowledge of: assessment principles, data collection, analysis and reporting structures; CSU and CSUN equity goals, including knowledge of assessment and research; CSUN and its mission, vision, and values; California and the CSU higher education environment. Knowledge of a wide range of communication and design applications, including InDesign, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative, page layout software, html, email and social networking applications.
    • Possession of strong communication skills and the ability to provide information accurately and effectively, both orally and in writing, to large groups and to the intersectionality of individuals of culturally, economically, gender, and sexually diverse backgrounds.
    • Ability to: effectively advocate on behalf of students with faculty, staff, and administrators; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with individuals across different communities while carrying out a variety of professionally complex assignments; maintain confidentiality.
    • Demonstrated successful experience with supervising student employees, interdisciplinary collaboration. Excellent time management skills, ability to work effectively independently, and/or in teams on multiple tasks or projects.


    Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
    • The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
    • Classification: SSP IV / 3086 / Grade 1
    • The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $6320 - $6667 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $6320 - $9014 per month.
    • HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings and weekends.
    • This is a Temporary position; end date to be determined.
    • The individual hired for this role will physically work on-campus in Northridge. This is not a telecommute position.
