GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs complex (journey-level) building maintenance and construction work. Responsible for preventative maintenance (cleaning/inspecting) and repairs to facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment at Possum Kingdom State Park. Maintenance and repair duties include carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and trail maintenance. Operates and maintains all types of equipment including vehicles, hand power tools, power mowers, and other gasoline and diesel-powered equipment. Assists with general clerical duties, front desk operations, revenue collection, and accounting daily revenue. Issues permits, registers campers, collects fees, and provides customer service and information to park visitors and general public. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Education :
Graduation from High School or GED.
Experience :
Three years of facility, equipment, or grounds maintenance experience.
Licensure :
Must posses at the time of hire, a valid State driver's license.
ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS :
Experience :
Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of two years.

Current Non-Commercial Pesticide Agriculture Applicator License issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA).

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Required to work in a public park with overnight camping and day use.
Required to work 40 hours per week, includes various schedules with hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and days off other than Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Required to respond to emergency situations and public service requests.
Required to perform manual labor, including lifting supplies and materials up to 50 lbs.
Required to perform work outdoors, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.
May be required to operate a State vehicle.
Required to travel 5% with possible overnight stays.
Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures.
Non-smoking environment in State buildings and vehicles.
