What you’ll do:
This is a licensed professional position accountable for:- assessment and treatment of mental illnesses
- provide complete psychiatric services including:
- assessment
- diagnosis
- medical prescription
- treatment
- Prescribes, evaluates, and monitors administration of medications
- Leads interdisciplinary teams in evaluating new patients and writes admission and discharge orders
- Serves as a consultant to other medical staff
- Prepares/submits evaluation reports to the courts and testifies in court proceedings
Applicants will be responsible for more elaborate, complex, and precise evaluation and care to severely mentally and/or emotionally ill adults.
Knowledge, skills & abilities- Knowledge of professional principles and practices of medicine and psychiatry, and of current theories and practices in the field of mental health
- Knowledge of medications and their effects on physical and psychological disorders
- Ability to provide expert witness testimony regarding the status of patients’ psychological condition
