This is manual or semi-skilled work of more than ordinary difficulty, often involving the use of skills acquired as a Municipal Maintenance Worker I.
An employee in this class is responsible for the performance of a wide variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks requiring some acquired skills in the use of hand tools, power tools, trucks and similar automotive equipment. An employee in this class may operate a municipal parking lot or be responsible for cleaning and maintenance which requires building and grounds maintenance tasks in an assigned area. Work may include manual labor in the installation and repair of municipal distribution and wastewater systems. Employees in this class may supervise employees of a lesser rank. Work is normally performed under supervision of a foreman or higher classified employee who issues written and oral instructions. Work is reviewed by the immediate supervisor; constant supervision is not necessary for routine and repetitive tasks. NOTE:

This job classification is included within the bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local Union 769 and therefore is subject to the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Fort Lauderdale and Teamsters Local Union 769. THE REQUIREMENTS:

- Must have at least one (1) year experience in the preparation and closure of interment sites, monument and marker setting, and cemetery grounds maintenance. Must have the ability to assist in loading and unloading of supplies, equipment and/or merchandise. Must be proficient in the operation of the following pieces of equipment utilized in the position: casket lowering devices, mausoleum lifts, mowers, and small engine power equipment.

- Parks & Recreation Department Vacancies : A current and valid State of Florida Class "B" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an airbrake endorsement Maybe required at the time of hire. Certain positions may require a State of Florida Class "A" CDL.
