Salary: $67,714 - $101,853 per yr
Under administrative direction, Chief Insurance Examiners plan, organize, direct and review new insurance products and programs to ensure that policies, rules, forms, business practices and operations comply with State laws and regulations, agency policies and procedures, and accepted industry standards. Incumbents function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives. This position is located in the Carson City office of the Division of Insurance. Along with general supervision of the Life and Health (L&H) Insurance team, this position is responsible for the oversight of the federally funded Premium Review Program; responds to consumers, industry representatives and other interested parties regarding life and health insurance issues; reviews and ensures compliance with rules, regulations and statutes; reviews and examines policies, forms, rates, rating and underwriting rules and agency contracts; and ensure L&H staff complete all rate filings in a timely and accurate manner. This position has a travel requirement of up to 25%.
