ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health or designee, this clinical position provides individual, family and/or group psychotherapy in a variety of clinical settings. The Therapist II is a journey-level position and the licensed Therapist III is the most experienced level. There is one position available at the Behavioral Health Department. This recruitment may be used to fill other Therapist openings within the county without reposting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Important responsibilities and duties (all levels) may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Participates in the intake process and the evaluation of problems presented by potential clients; develops appropriate treatment plans.
Maintains client records in an electronic health record.
Provides counseling services to children and adults with mental health disorders, and their family members, when appropriate utilizing individual, group, marital or family treatment methods.
Provides prevention and education services in schools and other community agencies.
Interprets and explains to community groups the social and emotional factors pertaining to emotional and substance abuse disorders in order to provide a better understanding of the social, environmental, emotional, and physical problems experienced by a family in crisis.
Provides crisis services in the clinic and other settings such as the emergency room or the county jail, as needed.
Provides professional assistance to staff as needed.
Performs related duties as required.
