Under general supervision, performs work to assist the Investigative Services Detectives with conducting criminal investigations; performs related work as required within a framework of established procedures. Makes initial contact with case complainants for notification purposes, answers any immediate questions, and obtains any additional information for the criminal case in an expeditious manner, but more specifically, within the first week after a criminal case is reported to the Galveston Police Department. Compiles case data (documents, DVD copies and other) for Brady subpoena compliance for pending court cases in a timely and time sensitive manner. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent; AND 1 year prior law enforcement experience related to criminal case investigation and the rules of evidence is preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Associate’s degree preferred.
