Position Description The Department of Occupational Therapy at California State University Dominguez Hills invites applications for a full-time position at the rank of 12-month Lecturer A or Lecturer B with the appointment starting in Summer 2023.

The Position This is for one 12-month full-time Lecturer B position in the Department of Occupational Therapy to take on the responsibilities of the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and teaching in the OT Department.
This 12-month full-time position comes with the following responsibilities:
• Teaching and advising.
• Conducting scholarship in line with the mission of the department, college, and university.
• Contributing to service for the department, college, and university.
• Contributing to curriculum and program development.
• Take on the responsibilities of the MSOT Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the Entry-Level MSOT Program as required by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). The AFWC is specifically responsible for the program’s compliance with the fieldwork requirements of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards Section C.1.0.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
- Applicants must have experience in teaching and working with colleagues from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
- An earned Masters degree.
- 2 years of clinical practice in occupational therapy.
- Eligible for occupational therapy (OT) licensure in California.
- Qualified to teach courses at both entry-level as well as advanced clinical-level courses.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring with ongoing or potential research projects that can foster student involvement and career opportunities.
- Demonstrate a record of professional leadership and scholarship.
Preferred Qualifications
- An earned post-professional doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, OTD).
- 5 years of clinical practice in occupational therapy.
- 2 years of teaching experience.
- Experience in OT curriculum and course development.
- Experience in fieldwork coordination in occupational therapy education, including student placements, development of affiliation agreements and fieldwork objectives, and collaboration with fieldwork sites.
- Experience in supervision of students’ fieldwork experience.
- Experience in community outreach, advocacy, leadership, and/or program development and management.

Department of Occupational Therapy The mission of the CSUDH Occupational Therapy Program is to prepare entry-level clinical practitioners with knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary to practice in traditional as well as emerging occupational therapy roles with an excellent foundation for later specialization and lifelong learning.
The Occupational Therapy Program has been planned with enthusiasm to help prepare students for a professional career focused on helping people achieve skills and utilize resources to live independent and meaningful lives. The program is structured towards producing client-centered therapists with enhanced critical thinking abilities. It aims to produce professionals, who can research, develop, implement, and evaluate procedures utilizing a high degree of independent judgment and to consult where appropriate with other members of the healthcare team.

Additional Information Lecturer A (12-Month) classification salary range is $5,168 to $6,946 per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring salary is $6,667 to $6,917.
Lecturer B (12-Month) classification salary range is $6,190 to $13,797 per month (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring salary is $8,334 to $ 8,750.
This position will be commensurate with experience and current CSUDH faculty salaries in the academic department/discipline. Faculty salaries are subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases. Moving expenses may be available.
