The Role: Under the direction of the General Counsel, the Assistant General Counsel will handle various legal matters to protect the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and further its mission to attract both leisure and business travelers to the Las Vegas destination. What You’ll Accomplish: Contract Administration: Review, negotiate, and approve as to form all terms and conditions. Consult with LVCVA staff on business terms, advise on potential business risks, and ensure compliance with Laws. Litigation: Process personal injury claims related to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Submit claims to the LVCVA’s general liability insurer, assess possible indemnification opportunities, and assist insurance defense counsel with discovery requests. Attend depositions as necessary. Marketing Division: Review, negotiate, and approve as to form proposed sponsorship agreements, advertising contracts, and event contracts. Business Sales Division: Consult with the business sales team regarding terms and conditions of show leases within the Las Vegas Convention Center and negotiate and approve as to form all show leases. Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the General Counsel. The Role: Event Design creates special events and meetings at the scale of Las Vegas by collaborating with executive, operations, marketing and sales teams. The Manager of Event Design is responsible for planning and executing events on brand and elevating them to include a Vegas “WOW” factor at or under the department budget. What You’ll Do: Keep in mind that this list is not all-inclusive. Creative Event Design Management : Deliver consistency and visibility of the Las Vegas brands at events. Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders and suppliers to create on-brand sales platforms. Manage multiple events simultaneously and all logistics to include project management, timelines, creative concepts, contract negotiation, and all financial administrative elements, including budgeting, audiovisual, food and beverage, venue selection, transportation, etc. Serve as the liaison between various parties : Lead event creation and cooperative efforts to set the event expectations. Provide exceptional customer service to all clients, mission partners and LVCVA ambassadors by creating an atmosphere of cooperation and friendliness. Coordinate interdepartmental efforts, including collaboration with the LVCVA Ad agency for graphics, tradeshow booths, invitations, etc. Leverage sponsorship opportunities for efficiencies and cost-effectiveness. Conduct pre-meeting and post-event surveys and evaluations to measure departmental and event metrics. Onsite Event Management : Attend events for onsite management, when appropriate, to ensure successful real-time execution. Direct supplier and mission partner teams to actualize the event vision. Event Design Knowledge : Act as a destination expert and knowledge resource center by staying highly visible in the local market, maintaining close contact with mission partners, and being knowledgeable in event planning trends.
