    Job Description

    Takoma Park is seeking a Human Resources Director (HRD) to be responsible for managing all aspects of the City’s human resources functions, to include compensation and benefits, recruitment and retention, employee relations, training, risk management, and legal compliance. The HRD works closely with the City Manager, Deputy City Manager, and department heads, serving as a trusted advisor on personnel policies, best practices, and organizational development.

    The starting salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000. Takoma Park offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and long-term disability insurance; and participation in the Maryland State Retirement & Pension System.     Job Requirements

    This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant executive-level experience in Human Resources that provides a deep understanding of the objectives and functions of a human resources department. The preferred candidate will have proven skills in management, supervision, problem-solving, and mediating disputes, and demonstratable experience leading an HR department. Strong prioritization, planning, and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
