The Assistant Director - Climate Action & Sustainability is a newly created position reporting to the Director of Public Works. The Assistant Director will lead the City’s Sustainability and Climate Action Plan in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

Palo Alto offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with proven success in motivating teams around a compelling future and advancing ambitious goals. The ideal candidate brings experience providing sound administrative advice and recommendations supported by rigorous analysis and complex financial/business information. The candidate selected must be experienced coordinating climate action efforts across internal departments and agencies. Public sector experience and/or experience managing large climate action and sustainability projects desired.
Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and six years of related experience, including four years at a management level.

Salary range is $186,784 - $280,176 (increases by 4% 7/1/24) supplemented by competitive benefits.
