YARD RESTORATION INSPECTOR
PART-TIME - Up to 29 hours per week
$19.75 to $21.89 per hour
Eligible for Paid Time Off and participation in KPERS

Our Utility Maintenance Group services and maintains the City’s water distribution and wastewater collection systems to keep water flowing throughout the community.

The Yard Restoration Inspector works with property owners to make sure their yard and property are returned to the best state possible after maintenance work has been done.

If offered this position, you must complete a post-offer background check, driving record review, drug screen and physical.

This is a part-time position, up to 29 hours per week; flexible schedule between 7:00 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

  • Coordinate with Team Supervisors to develop and maintain a list of areas requiring yard restoration.
  • Meet with yard restoration contractors on-site to determine required yard repairs and restoration.
  • Communicate with home owners and property owners on yard restoration status.
  • Conduct inspection of completed yard restoration to assure compliance with city standard, completeness and adherence to price agreements.
  • Coordinate follow up repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure invoice accuracy and coordinate payment with city administrative staff.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities as required.


Experience & Qualification Guidelines:

Experience: Previous landscaping, grounds keeping, lawn care and/or project inspections experience preferred.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge of: Olathe Streets preferred.

Licenses and Certificates: Possession of a valid driver's license with a favorable driving record.

Environmental and Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to work both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions. You may be exposed to sun, wind, rain, snow, etc. You may be exposed to dust, pollen, grass, mud, or other allergens. You may drive from site-to-site multiple times in one day. Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces, may climb or descend slopes. Must be able to visually inspect work performed by contractors. This position requires you to communicate with other employees, outside contractors, and the general public verbally in-person or over the phone and in writing by email.
