In this role, you’ll help lead and support a variety of activities-such as group fitness classes, social activities, organized walks, and sports-for adults and youth with diverse abilities.

This is a part-time position with hours varying according to week and season.Starting Pay: $16.50 per hourFor more details, review the full job details and requirements below.The Recreation Leader II is responsible for leading and supporting a diverse range of activity enrichment programs in a variety of work environments. The Recreation Leader II will display an intermediate level of skill and training, at times, working independently. This position is part of a three-level career progression of Recreation Leader I, II and III.
Key Responsibilities - Contributes to the success and continuous improvement of recreation programs; assists with leading programs and activities suitable for the participants; displays intermediate knowledge and skill while assisting and at times leading participants in recreation programs; works to understand concerns of participants, either addressing or relaying concern to the appropriate party.
- Provides excellent customer service; demonstrates ability to assist or resolve many participant concerns, questions and feedback; effectively communicates with participants, co-workers and supervisors.
- Aides in creating and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment for participants and other staff; ensures program area is properly set up and cleaned up after activity.
- Assists with maintaining a safe activity environment; observes participants offering assistance when needed; ensures equipment and supplies are used correctly; documents supply levels and any equipment not functioning correctly for prompt response by management.
Qualifications Experience: Two years of experience working in the recreation industry or other relevant area is required. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Licenses & Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification required- training provided. Other applicable certifications for specific program focus may be required. A valid driver's license and favorable driving record is preferred.
